They call me Sally, that’s not my name!

There is a rather thin line between admiration and infatuation, if you ask me.

That said we meet Sally; a young, energetic and impressionable lady who recently got the rare opportunity to work with what we could accurately call an iconic company, a shinning star among its peers and most respected in all of Palestine! I dare not get started on the challenges of being an Israeli in a Palestine run organization but she saw no hurdles and if she did she jumped and soldiered on just like a sports person, never allowing a moment of weakness. This girl is a winner on the track; she had been running all her life, what for, only she knows, who for, only her passion can tell, what from, only her past can reveal and where to, only her dreams will divulge!

Her new boss was a frequent guest in her pillow visions not for her pretty eyes or firm behind and certainly not for her possession ‘Malaika’ to be precise. Irony is; Sally would purchase the said Malaika any day and for whatever price the owner would quote. Not for its utility but as a prized keepsake, a relic even… for what it stood for was priceless, just like the 30 minutes-20 questions cruise; windows up, radio humming in the background, hitchhiker sporting a short skirt and a fancy hairdo Facebooking in the back seat, their voices drowned by the excessive drone of an old engine (my guess)… priceless nonetheless; both the experience and the not so angelic Malaika.

It’s the idea… the powerful notion represented by the motorist; the success painted by her ground-breaking achievements and by extension captured in the moving wheels. Sally loves cars; diminutive cars and so does she (I gather)! Maybe that was why she was in the boss’ fantasy, could be the uncanny similitude … or maybe not, could be she is a significant stranger though less significant taking into consideration the other occupants in the dream; an ex and a potential lover… significant nonetheless; both the fantasy and the not so familiar stranger.

Sally is naturally charming, naively and incredibly warm, forget the flattery it’s just an act; helps get by. She knows what she wants and sometimes emotions render her sloppy, she is but human. Her strength of will could fight and triumph over all her demons. Hers to others may be a lost cause but it’s the certitude within that gives her the strength of mind to forge constantly onwards.

Sally’s future; Lizzy and Lizzy’s past; Sally. They both dream of each other.

They call you Lizzy, that’s not your name!
